Shropshire Sheep & Heritage Pigs
Son Risen Farm- River John, Nova Scotia
Son Risen Farm was established in 1995. The farm name comes from our belief that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who was born a man, who died on a cross to take away our sins and on the third day rose from the dead to be seated at the right hand of the Father.
Son Risen Farm is committed to keeping our farming heritage alive. We do this by raising purebred Shropshire sheep and Tamworth and Berkshire pigs. Although we use modern farm machinery, our farming practices are from an earlier era. We believe in finding that ever important balance of returning to the soil what we take out of it without using an overabundance of sprays and chemical fertilizers. Although we have reclaimed farmland at our new Nova Scotia farm, we have also left land in its natural state to provide areas for the indigenous wildlife to flourish.
